Charity Banger Rally

Raising money for Rowcroft hospice / Samaritans by driving my MK1 Nissan Micra from St Austell to Pompeii and up Mt Vesuvius. This follows driving 'Adventure car' from St Austell to Gibraltar via a 1500 mile route over mountains and down the coast of Portugal.

It isn't all plain sailing in a high millage banger built-in 1989. The fan stopped working, the radiator blew, the automatic stopped going into top gear and the exhaust system came off at the manifold... but I never burst a tire. On the road repairs were fun and with a top speed of 60mph before the whole car shook itself to bits, it was a challenge to reach each day's checkpoints - but fun.
